Javier Areán

Originario de la Ciudad de México, Areán es hijo de padre exiliado de la Guerra Civil Española, y de madre Mexicana. En 1995 se mudó a la Ciudad de Nueva York, donde obtuvo el título de Licenciatura en Teoría Musical, y posteriormente cursó estudios de especialización en Pintura, Dibujo y Escultura. Desde 1998 ha enfocado su atención exclusivamente hacia las Artes Plásticas. Actualmente reparte su tiempo entre la Ciudad de México y Nueva York.

Born in Mexico City, Areán is the son of a Mexican mother and a father who was an exile from the Spanish Civil War. In 1995 he moved to New York City, where he received a degree in Musical Theory and, afterwards, took courses specializing in Painting, Drawing and Sculpture. Since 1998 he has focused his attention exclusively on the plastic arts. He currently divides his time between Mexico City and New York.
